Emblemariopsis occidentalis, known commonly as the Flagfin blenny in the Bahamas, the Blackfin blenny in Puerto Rico, and the Redspine blenny in Cuba, Mexico, and the United States,[1] is a species of chaenopsid blenny in the genus Emblemaria.[2] It was named by John S. Stephens, jr., in 1970.[3] It is found around the Bahamas, Brazil, and the Lesser Antilles, in the western Atlantic ocean.[2] Male Emblemariopsis occidentalis can reach a maximum length of 1.9 centimetres, while females can reach a maximum length of 1.69 centimetres.[2]
